New York Philharmonic in concert

THE New York Philharmonic Orchestra is giving a concert at the Poly Grand Theater in Jiading at 7:30pm on July 4.
Alan Gilbert will conduct and the performance will feature pianist Daniil Trifonov.
The orchestra, founded in 1842, ranks among the top five leading symphony orchestras in the United States.
It’s also the oldest orchestera in the US and has cooperated with Tchaikovsky, Dvorak and Rachmaninoff.
Gilbert became its musical director in 2009, having been in a similar position with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra from 2000 to 2008.
In 2004 he was principal guest conductor of the NDR Symphony Orchestra.
Trifonov, who was born in 1991, is a shining star in the new generation of American pianists, winning prizes at the XVI International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, the 13th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv and the First Prize, Gold Medal, and Grand Prix at the XIV International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.
