New complexes spring up around town in Jiading

The construction of supporting business facilities in Jiading New City is going well with a batch of business complexes due to be open over the next two to three years.
Shanghai Darong City Shopping Center
The Shanghai Darong City Shopping Center has five floors above ground and two basement levels with an investment of over 1 billion yuan (US$161 million). With 80 percent of outlets rented already, the 130,000-square-meter center will house a cinema, a Tesco supermarket and other popular chain stores such as H&M, Starbucks, and Toy’r’US as well as themed restaurants and pubs.

When to open: Early next year
Taibei Hot
The Taipei-themed business complex features business outlets in dining, recreation, entertainment, fashion, culture and arts. With two floors underground and five above, the 128,000 square meter complex has rented over 80 percent of its outlets already.

When to open: By the end of this year
Xiyunlou Cultural Street
The Xiyunlou Cultural Street has a planned area of 100,000 square meters, of which half will be used to build a landscaped water garden. It will be open next year with an underground parking space for 300 vehicles.

When to open: Next year
Citic Square Shopping Mall
The Citic Square Shopping Mall can be directly accessed from the Jiading New City station on Metro Line 11 with 337,000 square meters for business and offices. There will be basement parking for 2,070 cars.

When to open: By the end of 2017
Jiading Baolong City Square
The Jiading Baolong City Square covers an area of 200,000 square meters with 88,000 square meters for businesses such as a children’s activity center and training organizations. Hailed as a garden-style urban complex, the open theater style square is estimated to be open to the public next year.
