New energy sector grows in value
THE output value of new energy vehicles and intelligent automobile industry reached 5.27 billion yuan (US$79.85 million) in the first nine months of the year in Jiading, according to Jiading’s statistics authority.
That’s more than double that of the same period last year’s 2.06 billion yuan.
So far China has introduced a series of incentive policies on the industry, and technical upgrading and transformation play key roles for companies, an industry insider said.
Shanghai Koito Automotive Lamp Co is a traditional automotive lighting producer based in Jiading. By end of last year, the company had applied 836 patents, including two in the United States and 47 invention patents. The company has become a supplier of LED headlamps to carmaker Roewe on its E950 series.
Shanghai Suo Li Technology Co Lid, a lithium battery supplier at Jiangqiao, adopted new diaphragm materials and production methods, solving potential safety hazards in lithium cobalt oxides and lithium manganite.
In the first three quarters, it sold batteries worth over 200 million yuan, 15 percent more than the same period last year.
Shenzhen-based Clou Electronics, which develops new energy products, bought shares in Shanghai Car Ena, a pioneer of ternary battery manufacture in China. By the end of next year, its batteries are expected to be used in 400,000 cars. Its partners include SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile, JMEV, Shanghai Sunlong Bus and Dongfeng Special Commercial Vehicle.
