Ping-pong reunites cousins after 40 years

ZHU Baoru was finally reunited with her long-lost cousin Liu Yongxian in Anting Town, after 40 years' waiting. The reunion has become a hot topic in Anting Town. Coincidently, the two old women both live in Anting and were only several hundred meters away from each other, yet they had never met.

Zhu and Liu, daughter of Zhu's aunt, are from Xushui City, Hebei Province, and they were intimate friends during childhood. But Zhu got married and moved to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, while her cousin married a man in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou Province. As a result, the cousins lost contact with each other 40 years ago.

In 2005, Zhu and her husband moved to Anting after retirement to live with their son who works there. Interestingly, Liu had come to invest in a factory in Anting three years earlier with her husband. She lives in Yulan No. 4 Community, while Zhu lives in the neighboring Yulan No. 3 Community.

Ping-pong was responsible for their reunion.

Zhu is a sports fan and table tennis is her favorite. Once, her table tennis partner Wang Shumei told her that she used to work for an astronautics base in Guiyang, so Zhu mentioned randomly that her cousin also lived there. Wang asked about her cousin's name and Zhu said Liu Yongxian.

After checking the age, the appearance, the address and family background, Zhu was extremely delighted and believed it must be her cousin.
