Plenty of fun during the week-long National Day holiday
JIADING District held a number of activities, including performances, lectures and exhibitions, for local residents during the National Day holiday from October 1 to 7.
Huating Family park held its first exhibition on insects in the Amazon, attracting many local families with children. The exhibition adopted leading technologies to enlarge tiny insects for young visitors in virtual scenarios. “We thought it was just an ecological park. It actually surprised us with so many interactive activities,” said Liu Chen, a visitor.
The park is equipped with diverse sci-fi recreational programs featuring virtual reality.
The district library also welcomed many residents during the holiday. Its branch in Qinghe Road hosted old film screenings, which were much appreciated by senior residents.
Shanghai Poly Grand Theater and Jiading District Cultural Center staged shows that included a classic comedy drama produced by renowned comedian Chen Peisi and the play “The Death of Sherlock Holmes” by TNT Theater.
“We traveled from the city center. But it is worthwhile as we can enjoy both the great shows and nice scenery,” said Liu Weiyi and his wife, both of whom are drama lovers. They booked tickets online as soon as they were available.
“The xiaolongbao (steamed bun) tastes so delicious. I will vote for it!” Sorry? Vote for xiaolongbao? Yes, seriously. There is voting in Nanxiang Town, which will run through the end of the month. As part of the Nanxiang Xiaolong Cultural Exhibition, a festival is being held across all xiaolongbao restaurants in the town. Diners are encouraged to vote for their favorite xiaolongbao. The four restaurants with most votes will be the winners.
