Roadworks aiming to reduce congestion
JIADING plans to connect dead-end Fuhai Road, Pan’an Road and Chengliu Road S. this year in a bid to improve local traffic conditions.
As the busiest east-west road in Jiading, Yecheng Road is always jammed. Once the Fuhai Road extension is completed, it will be able to relieve the traffic congestion in the area. The extension starts from Huyi Highway to the west and Bole Road S. to the east.
The extended road is 754 meters long with two fast lanes and two slow lanes in both directions. A new bridge will also be built along the road.
Fuhai Road will be connected with other major roads including Shugou Road, Shengxin Road, Huyi Highway and Bole Road S.
The proposal to connect another dead-end road Chengliu Road S. has been approved with a plan to begin construction in September which will connect Wenzaobang Bridge and Wenbei Road. Once in use, the 194-meter road will relieve congestion in Nanxiang. Drivers will be able to get to S6 Huxiang Expressway via the road directly.
The district government is preparing for construction bidding for Pan’an Road, which is scheduled to kick off construction by the end of next month.
It will connect Hongshi Road and Pingcheng Road, a distance of 645 meters, with four fast lanes and two slow lanes in both directions.
The project has been listed in the district’s 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020).
