JIADING, one of Shanghai’s main vegetable suppliers, has adopted green technologies, including ecological and biological controls, to ensure food safety. Six large vegetable bases have been selected as green technology demonstration bases to promote wide use of protective screening and eliminating insect damage using eco-friendly methods. The wide use of protective screening and environmental-friendly ways of eliminating insects is reducing the use of pesticides to produce pollution-free vegetables.
