Science Week has latest tech on display
HIGH-TECHNOLOGY companies in Jiading have shown their latest developments — including remote control helicopters with cameras and a pen that can test water quality — at the recent 2014 Jiading Science Week.
Nine Eagles Electronic Technology Company presented dozens of remote helicopters. Wu Yuchen, a company consultant, said a helicopter installed with HD camera was proving popular with photographers and wedding organizers.
Zhao Hongnong, an amateur photographer, said he was amazed by the aircraft.
“It only costs about 2,000 yuan (US$320),” he said. “It’s affordable.”
Another company unveiled a pen which can test the PH value and heavy metal content of water instantly.
Bi Hailing, an official with the producer, believed the pen had good market prospects as more people were becoming aware of health risks.
In another event included in Science Week, teachers and students from four migrant children’s schools in Jiading visited the Shenguang High Power Laser Facility, which presented visitors with a huge lab as large as a football field with hundreds of optics equipment.
“It’s much more interesting than having class in the school,” said student Qin Ruxu.
“When seeing the lines of computers and the huge screen in the command center, it feels like you are watching the launch of a spaceship!”
