Science expo鈥檚 successful formula
THE 2016 Shanghai Jiading Science and Technology Expo witnessed the signing of seven innovation projects and 70 scientific findings published by eight universities or scientific research institutions.
Nearly 100 enterprises and scientific research institutions released their cooperation target areas.
The expo closed on September 28 after demonstrating scientific results, creative ideas from students and sharing of successful cases.
Jiading New Town Company signed an agreement with InnoSpring to set up Shanghai InnoSpring Science and Technology Co Ltd.
The joint venture will carry out strategic cooperation with Tsinghua Entrepreneur & Executive Club in the area of intelligent automobiles, the Internet of Things, new energy and scientific finance.
Jiading New Town Company plans to set up the project beside Metro Line 11’s Jiading New Town Station. The project is to be open next year.
“Currently there are four scientific innovation enterprises to enter the building, and most of the four enterprises are TEEC members. We aim to set up a building with tax revenue of 100 million yuan (US$14.53 million) a year in the center of Jiading New Town,” said project leader Lu Yeqing.
“We thought the expo is only a showcase for research fruits, but after three days we received inquiries from several batches of investors, which will surely provide new opportunities for us,” Zhou Yingchun from Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, said.
Hesai Tech CEO Li Yifan delivered a speech on business start-ups during the fair, and he didn’t expect to be able to attract heavyweight investment companies such as Shanghai Automobile Industrial Co.
