Seminar honors publication's 15th celebration

JIADING District held a seminar on June 20 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the publication resumption of Jiading News.
Representatives from the media, former editors-in-chief from Jiading News and readers attended the event to review its development course and offer good ideas for its future development.
Jiading News was launched in 1956, stopped publication in 1958, and resumed publication in 1996. The weekly newspaper expanded to eight pages from four pages at the beginning of its resumption. The extra publications of both eight-paged Chinese and English editions are issued at the end of every month.
About 100,000 copies of the Chinese edition of Jiading News are distributed free to the district's residents while 40,000 copies of the English edition are distributed since it was launched in 2008.
Jiading News has been awarded two city-level prizes for outstanding district coverage.
Two new books about feature articles and historical stories published in Jiading News in the past five years also made their debut at the seminar.
