Shi, scientist of the future
Every child has his own unique impression of his father. For 5-year-old Shi Jiahang from Laiyin Kindergarten, his father Shi Leijun is like a superman.
Visitors to Shi鈥檚 home are always impressed by self-made objects, such as a small table made from plastic water pipes and waste planks, solar energy fan, self-made motor and simple projector, all made by Shi Leijun as toys for his son.
Shi likes to use simple scientific knowledge to make these things. The projector is just based on the theory of convex lens, which Chinese students learn in middle school.
Besides making interesting objects, Shi often helps his son with science experiments, such as making a battery using fruit and creating rainbow with prism.
Although little Shi doesn鈥檛 yet understand the theory, this has already aroused his interest in science. Shi鈥檚 teacher says he鈥檚 good at making stuff and likes to raise questions.
鈥淚鈥檓 not trying to train him into a scientist in the future,鈥 his father said. 鈥淚 just feel happy to be there when he learns something.鈥
