JIADING is holding the 8th Vocational Skills Contest which runs until October. The contest is comprised of 16 items, involving 10 types of work that include digitally controlled machine tools, pastry cooking and video games design. Some contests will be held especially for migrant workers. Since the first contest in 2006, there have been a total of 5,584 contestants, of whom 3,144 now have state level vocational certificates, 78 have been promoted to senior positions and 93 promoted to technicians.
