Spot trading contestants see a future as dealers
THE second Boshang Spot Trading Contest has been held at Shanghai Automobile Financial Port in Anting Town.
The contest uses a simulated trade platform which mirrors the Bohai Commodity Exchange.
Over 2,000 contestants in the district took part.
“Some contestants will become good dealers of spot trading in the future if they receive more training,” said Xu Jiahao, a marketing official with the Bohai exchange.
Among the contestants were enterprise managers, office workers and sales staff. They took part to learn more about the Bohai exchange which has more than 100,000 employees.
Xu said these employees formed a huge sales team around the country with a wide network of contacts and stable clients.
“I took part in the contest because our company is considering trading our construction materials through the Bohai Commodity Exchange,” said a sales manager with a construction material company.
Xu said he buys some daily commodities such as tea, mushrooms and apples through the Bohai exchange.
The price of the apples he bought at the exchange was 40 percent lower than the price he would pay in a normal fruit market.
In addition to normal business hours, the market is open from 7pm to 3am as well as Saturdays, times suitable for people who have regular jobs.
