Spring is here at Poly Grand Theater

SHANGHAI Poly Grand Theater in Jiading District has launched its spring season with a series of performances and cultural activities.
More than 1,200 artists from 11 countries will bring 46 shows to the theater during the season.
Among them will be Arturo Sandoval, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Vienna String Sextet, Shanghai Festival Orchestra and eight French cellists.
Performances by traditional Chinese artists will be featured, such as the Peking opera “Taking of the Tiger Mountain” and the musical “Destroying Opium in Humen.” Both are classics based on historic events.
Shanghai farce “Seventy-two Tenants,” which is performed in Shanghai dialect, and xiangsheng crosstalk shows performed in putonghua, brought by Deyun Crosstalk Associate, will amuse the audience with hilarious shows.
