Study an ideal place for sharing stories
Over a fragrant tea, 50 tea lovers gathered at Lejia Study on Jia’an Road in Jiading to listen to guest speaker Wang Ronghui on his entrepreneurial story and tea-making techniques.
The study opened to the public in February, converted from the employee training facility of Shanghai Leshen Clothing Co. Qu Tongjun, one of the company’s founders, initiated the project, and his idea was echoed by the Summer School volunteer project and team in the New Juyuan community.
Maintained by two employees, the study is open from 8:30am to 6:30pm and has more than 600 books, including those recommended by leaders in various industries.
But the study is not just a place to read books. It offers entrepreneurial story-sharing events such as Wang’s tea-making experiences and picture book reading activities.
Qu said the story-sharing events can give listeners an insight into entrepreneurs’ experiences and personal development, as well as an analysis of their respective industries.
On March 18, the study invited an entrepreneur in the design industry, Xiang Jiabin, and Fang Runwu, creative design director of Shanghai Jianyan Industrial Co. After the two shared their stories they exchanged contact information with attending entrepreneurs.
This is what the study set out to do in the first place, Qu said, to do charity work through reading.
Through the story-sharing events, entrepreneurs can learn from experienced entrepreneurs at the beginning stage of their businesses, as well as guidance and resources, which is what sets the study apart from other public reading spaces.
