Take precautions for H1N1 flu

WITH the weather getting colder and the long vacation approaching, the risk of catching the H1N1 flu is increasing. To prevent a massive breakout, local administrations have taken various measures to control the potential dangers. There are still no H1N1 victims in Jiading.

Over 4,800 students went to Shanghai College of Science and Technology on September 10 to start the new semester. But before entering the gate, all the students had their body temperature taken. Anyone who had a fever would have been sent home immediately, and for those students from other provinces and cities, the college prepared temporary beds.

Not only the colleges, but also the kindergartens and middle schools in Jiading have all taken measures to prevent students from getting infected.

Daily schedule

The Ministry of Health required the whole country to prepare for H1N1 flu during the long vacation. As a response, many communities of Jiading have put this on their daily schedule and post a lot of notices about it.

However, not all the people will see the notices. In Jiaxin Community of Juyuan, all families with aged people and children have received phone calls from community staff. Some families have even been visited by staff.

"H1N1 flu is not so scary," says a local official from the Jiading Disease Prevention and Control Center. "Compared with common flu, H1N1 flu just has a faster infection speed." Many doctors suggest citizens not go out when not feeling well, and reduce the number of parties and big gatherings. Also, if you do not feel well, see the doctor immediately.
