WITH warm wind and sunlight, the world has woken up from winter. Green mountains, clear rivers and blooming flowers - all show the spring is here. So why not throw all your troubles behind and take a trip to nature with passion and happiness? It will be a feast for all your senses.
Smell
There is no doubt that flowers lead this spring opera. These days, Jiading is filled with the fragrance of various flowers. Take a deep breath, and the spring will melt into your body.
The primroses are always first to bloom. No matter in Huilongtan Park, Guyi Garden or Ziteng Park, you can see this bright yellow anywhere. Although the primroses are the earliest, they are not alone.
In Yangdian Village of Waigang Town, more than 80 acres of rape flowers are also displaying their beauty, which will definitely surprise those who have been used to the bustling urban life.
In the Lijiang Orchard in Jiading Industry Zone, 121 hectares of peach trees are already in full blossom. Walking through them, you can find millions of little pink and white blossoms, sometimes with bees accompanying.
At the same time, budding pear flowers are also preparing for their turn. Although they're not as bright as those peach flowers, they have their own tastes.

Have you ever looked forward to such a nice time in the afternoon - a cup of tea in hand and the folk arts of old street around you, listening to wonderful storytelling in Suzhou dialect. Now you can make it in the Tating Storytelling Hall.
Located in Dongda Street, Jiading Town, east of Taqing Bridge, the Tating Storytelling Hall was opened in 1925. At 1-3pm everyday, professional storytellers work in the hall. One afternoon of enjoyment will cost you only 5 yuan (73 US cents).
In Jiading, vehicles play an important role in the culture. Yesterday the First Exhibition of Vehicle Music opened in Ju Garden. The top three winners of the International Vehicle Stereo Competition in 2008 are on display. There will also be lectures on the technology of vehicle stereos and how to appreciate the music.

After enjoying the storytelling and music, it's time to relax our eyes. Jiading Cinema is located at 149 Chengzhong Road, the center of Jiading CBD. After a reconstruction in 2007, it now covers more than 5,000 square meters with three auditoriums and 1,054 seats.
All the new movies are available, and the ticket price is much lower. If you join the "I Love Movie Club," you can enjoy an even better price.
Not a movie fan? It's OK. The Jiading Library at 34 Qinghe Road is another perfect option. About 3.8 million books and an electronic information database will definitely meet your demand.

Wandering around 800-year-old Jiading, history is always around. Just before the Spring Festival, Jiading was named one of the "Famous Historical and Cultural Towns of China."
Go straight through Hujia Highway, the first highway on Chinese mainland, and you will see a moat surrounding the town. This is the only one in Shanghai as well as one of few ancient moats in China that are still functional.
In Jiading, there are two rivers crossing the whole ancient town - the Hengli River from south to north and the Lianqi River from east to west. With the moat, the three help form the unique water system for this town. Bridges are unavoidable.
Now, two locations in Jiading - the Zhou Bridge and the West Gate - have been reconstructed. Twelve old streets and 12 lanes cross and connect with each other, linking many attractions like the Confucius Temple, Qiuxia Garden and Fahua Pagoda.
Part of the ancient walls built in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279) are still standing near the West Gate and the South Gate.
