Tech institute targets high output values
EAST China Institute of Computing Technology, headquartered in Jiading District, will hit an output value target of 3 billion yuan (US$439.45 million) this year, 5 billion yuan in five years and 10 billion yuan in 2020.
Covering an area of 20 hectares, the institute boasts a construction area of 110,000 square meters.
Taking advantage of Shanghai International Automobile City and Jiading Science and Technology City, the institute will strengthen cooperation with local organizations in production and research.
In the first half of this year, an embedded real-time operating system self-developed by the institute was applied on "Roewe" 750 cars.
The system called "ReWorks" has broken the foreign monopoly in the domestic market of embedded operating systems.
ReWorks embedded real-time operating system can be customized for different applications.
Since 2000, the institute has set up a 40-member team to develop the system.
