TEN firms in Jiading were listed among the top 100 private companies in Shanghai. The 10 companies are: Shanghai Yuanda Aluminium Engineering Co, Shanghai Dachang Copper Industry Co, Urban Construction Group, Liancheng Group, DK Trading, Warom Group, Shanghai Apple Group, Shanghai Xinma Construction Co, Jaso Group and Huajiang Construction Development Co. The average annual revenue of the top 100 private companies was more than 4 billion yuan (US$625 million).
Internet conference
The 10th China Internet Conference was held recently in Beijing. The conference, themed "China Network - Responsibility and Vitality," was co-organized by the China Internet Association and the Jiading District government.
US patent
The high-power laser physics laboratory at the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics affiliated to the China Academy of Sciences has been awarded an invention patent for a kind of easy-to-clean fine optic vibration isolation platform. The patent was given by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Its carefully designed contaminant collecting facilities can simplify the cleansing procedure and help the user clean the blow-off channels promptly and conveniently.
Sapa center opens
Swedish extruded aluminium profiles manufacturer Sapa AB said on September 6 that it opened its second global technology center in Jiading District. The newly launched Sapa Technology Center (Shanghai) has a strategic position within the group and is a global research center, supporting the Asia Pacific region.
Yecen factory launch
Shanghai Yecen Auto-Inspection Device Science & Technology Co Ltd celebrated the launch of its new factory in Jiading District. The new production base is 32,000 square meters and is Asia's largest manufacturing site for four-wheel aligners.
Metro plans store
German cash-and-carry group Metro AG said it will open a new store in Yongrun Xingchen Leisure Plaza in Malu Town. This will be the second hypermarket after a Wal-Mart outlet opened in Jiading New Town. The Metro store is expected to open by February 2012.
More apartments
Jiading District is expected to start construction of 4 million square meters of commercial apartments this year. Another 1 million square meters of housing for relocation and 850,000 square meters of budget housing willstart construction.
