SHANGHAI boasts many distinctive bars in the downtown area but there are other spots to relax in the suburbs, like those in Anting Town.
The top bar in Anting could be V8 near Citizen Square. You can dine while appreciating the fountains in the square.
What's special about the bar is that V8 integrates it perfectly with the restaurant.
Another reason for its popularity is the cheap but delicious dishes.
Aojia Bar at Xinyuan Road features many interior decorations. Simple in appearance, the room evokes an elegant atmosphere with distinctive chairs and long tables. The waiters are from the Philippines and chefs are from Australia.
Specialties here include steak, soup and pizza. The middle-aged are regular visitors for its peace and quiet.
But if you like some noise, Hakuna Matata is an ideal place for party animals. It combines KTV with a bar, where you can drink, sing and dance.
The decor is modern and exciting. Its name is derived from an ancient African saying, meaning "nothing to worry about."
As the most Westernized bars in Anting, clients are mostly the young and foreigners.
