The invention of navigation software has helped countless drivers find their way, but software drawbacks remain. German automobile company Apostera gave a presentation on their AR navigation software that can tackle the problems posed by traditional navigation software.
A video showed how the AR system can monitor the road and the traffic, and the display can highlight lane changes. In low visibility, such as at night, the system will automatically recognize lanes with the help of technologies such as enhanced reality, camera-based sensors and an enhanced peripheral view monitoring system.
Israeli company Neteera, which specializes in remote sensor technologies, gave a presentation on the sensory technologies that can break the boundaries among drivers, the vehicle and the environment.
The company developed a micro radar that can detect minute changes in heart rate, blood pressure and breathing.
It can monitor the health conditions of driver and passengers. If it detects the driver is suffering from fatigue, the system will automatically adjust the in-car environment.
And if small children get locked in a vehicle, the system will adjust the temperature onboard to prevent problems.
An American company, Advano, which is seeking a Chinese partner, has shown a high-efficient car lithium battery which could let new energy cars drive farther and be cheaper and cleaner.
