To hide from the scorching summer in a tea house
SUMMER in these days is always so unbearably hot that the small raindrops can only bring momentary relief to us. Some people believe that sitting in a quiet tea house with a pot of good tea is the best way to cool down naturally. Maybe what they said is true. Why not follow us to have a leisure afternoon in the tea houses as introduced below?
Dasi Tea House
Dasi Tea House is famous for its pingtan story-telling performances which are held 1-3pm by performers from Jiangsu Province and Shanghai. Most of customers are fans of pingtan and no matter whether it's rainy or sunny, they always come to appreciate it - some even come from as far away as Baoshan District, Jinshan District and Pudong New Area.
The tea house building is made of brick, and inside it is decorated by carved windows, red floors, rosewood chairs and tables, and purple clay teapots, as if the tea house has been frozen in the time of the Ming (1368-1644) or Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. A cup of tea costs only 5 yuan (78 US cents).
One of the old fans of pingtan, Zhang Baolin comes here almost every day and said: "We appreciate the extraordinary show accompanied by a cup of tea."
For him, an entire afternoon in Dasi Tea House is just too short.

The owner, Mu Lisha, a woman from Yunnan Province, said all the tea leaves used for making Puer tea here had been picked from ancient tea bushes in the mountains of Yunnan's Xishuangbanna area.
In this tea house, one does not feel forced to buy a cup of tea. People can just take a rest and have a chat here with the owner.
