JIADING, the northwest gateway bridging urban Shanghai and other parts of the Yangtze River Delta, enjoys a worldwide reputation for its historical and cultural heritage, science and technology parks and automobile culture.
During World Expo 2010 Shanghai, it will exemplify the sub-theme of Expo - "Rural-urban Interaction" - with its millennium-old culture and graceful local traditions. Humanistic Zhouqiao: A place for experiencing history
There's a unique experience in strolling through Zhouqiao Old Street, where you can piece together fragments of culture and history while relishing small bridges, babbling creeks and traditional residences that have made the old town a cultural icon of Jiangnan, south of the Yangtze River. Through the Shanghai Confucius Cultural Festival you can savor Jiading's charms from various perspectives, discover its traces as an ancient learning center and a repository of Confucian classics, and discover historical themes.
