Tutors pave way to high-tech success

AT Jiading High-tech Park, 20 key enterprises have been provided with four tutors to offer guidance on starting businesses.
The tutors are all successful entrepreneurs in management, financing and marketing.
Through regular lectures on marketing, technology, production and financial management, they provide suggestions and "diagnosis" and help solve various problems faced by the enterprises during development.
Shanghai Shanke Environment Protection High-tech Co Ltd is one of the four most promising enterprises.
Huang Anhong, Shanke's general manager, said that since its operation started last October, the company's performance has been getting better and better. "It is all due to the support from the high-tech park and the tutors' guidance.''
Shanke used to focus on product development and profit growth. However, Zhong Bin, general manager of Shanghai Kesheng Investment Co Ltd, suggested that the company should focus more on intellectual property and patent protection.
"It is the keystone of development for the future,'' Huang said. "I also regulate the internal management system to prepare for high-quality cooperation.''
Jiading High-tech Park hopes to turn the teacher-student relationship into a true cooperation of partners through the scheme.
