VW Powertrain promotes production capacity

RECENTLY, Shanghai Volkswagen Powertrain Co laid the foundation stone for the third phase of its expansion project, which is expected to be finished by year-end. By that time, the company will cover a total area of 300,000 square meters, allowing a great increase on production capacity. The engine model of EA211 produced in the new plant will be adopted in the cars made by Shanghai Volkswagen including Polo, Lavida and Octavia, thanks to its compact structure and less fuel consumption.
