Volunteer center trial under way on Bole Rd

Jiading District Volunteer Service Center at 70 Bole Road has been receiving requests for volunteer services as part of its trial operations.
The 357-square-kilometer center has areas for leisure, meetings and training for volunteers and local residents.
Many residents submitted requests such as taking elderly people to parks or to go fishing. One senior resident visited the center to seek a volunteer who can give him daily injections so the center is seeking someone who lives near this person鈥檚 neighborhood and works in the medical industry.
A man surnamed Zhang visited the center to find out where he could have his medical records copies and volunteers were able to point him in the direction of photocopy shops in the area.
Pleased with their help, Zhang left with the center鈥檚 hotline in his smartphone and said he would be telling his neighbors all about the center and the help it can provide.
The center, which also had visitors interested in becoming volunteers, will take into account the opinions of local residents as it adapts its services to best serve people in the local community.
