Websites knit close community ties

JIADING is moving with the times. The district has established 120 websites to disseminate local information. The sites are popular, especially among young netizens.
The website "taoyuan jiayuan" was established by the Taoyuan Community in 2005. It has 27 categories and reports total hits of 127,000.
The websites not only inform local residents of what's happening at their community, but also give them the opportunity to offer feedback. That helps community leaders keep abreast of local needs. For example, malfunctioning television sets have been fixed after frustrated residents reported problems, and a harmonica club for people who like to play has been formed.
The website has also become a platform on which people can share experiences in photography, travel and other mutual interests.
Everyone, it seems has some interest to share. Wang Chunxia, a housewife in Zhenxin Community started her own blog two years ago to promote family planning. Her blog now features 230 articles, covering a wide range of topics that include science and psychology.
Neighbor relationships have been enhanced by the websites, so as the ties between home owners and their property management companies.
