Zone aims at wooing overseas auto talent
Jiading District government and China Auto Talents Research Society are making joint effort to set up China Auto Talent Pilot Zone to attract more overseas auto talents to the auto industry in Jiading.
The plan was put forward at a seminar late last month when more than 10 elite members of the global auto industry, experts from the district’s Thousand Talent Program and industry leaders participated.
Industry insiders said the country’s evaluation system for overseas returnees lacks long-term planning, which restricts them from achieving further success.
They suggested Jiading officials communicate more with these returnees to better understand the problems and challenges they face in starting a business, and introduce new measures to improve the entrepreneurial environment for the elites and encourage them to try new ideas.
Ma Chunlei, Jiading’s Party secretary said the local government officials would gather the suggestions from the experts and auto industry elites to make improvements.
Jiading’s auto industry reported 160 billion yuan (US$26.2 billion) in production value in the first half of this year, when 770,000 cars were sold, ranking first in the country’s passenger car market.
