Foreigners visit Shibei

More than 250 foreigners, including executives of multinational companies and Magnolia Award winners, toured the Shibei High Technology Park to view Shanghai鈥檚 progress in creating a 鈥渟mart city.鈥
Shibei is a prime example of how traditional smokestack industries have been converted into clean, innovative businesses. The park is home to the Shanghai Big Data Exchange 鈥 the 鈥渂rains鈥 of smart city development.
Kristin Iglum, Norwegian consul-general in Shanghai, said she was very impressed by the tour.
鈥淚t was amazing,鈥 she said. 鈥淲e also have a similar focus in Norway, aiming to make our neighborhoods as livable as possible and encourage a green, sustainable way of life.鈥
