Online aid to entrepreneurs
A map pinpointing work hubs and startup incubators in Jing’an has been released to help entrepreneurs interested in founding their own businesses.
The cartoon-style map, the first of its kind in Shanghai, includes 19 sites, mainly clustered in the Shibei High Tech Industrial Park, Shanghai Circus World and in areas between Nanjing Road W. and Suzhou Creek.
The map includes QR codes for people to scan to gain access to each site.
Lin Xiaojue, director of the Jing’an Science and Technology Committee, said the map will help entrepreneurs by providing geographic information, service information and government policies.
It’s all part of the Intelligent Jing’an Project, which uses big data technology to builds online platforms that benefit the public.
“It’s great,” said Ling Shanshan, 29, who wants to open a website offering customized travel packages. “I was wondering where to find help and investment. The map tells me where to go and whom to see. It really saves a lot of time and energy.”
The map was the brainchild of the Shanghai Science and Technology Committee and Shanghai Technology Innovation Center. It was designed by East China Science and Technology magazine.
Shanghai plans to eventually extend the maps to cover all districts of the city.
