14 new businesses named famous brands

THE brands "Dinosaur Bedding," "Master Sofa" and "Shimai Cable" are all "made in Minhang" and were recently included in 14 new Minhang brands which have been selected as "Shanghai Famous Brands."
They are renowned among manufacturing and consumer circles, taking the number of recognized products in the district to 68, nearly 9 percent of what's made in the city.
Among the new Famous Brands, Dinosaur Textiles in Hongqiao Town have been in business for 15 years. Consumers may know the company from its Esprithome home label, whose products were made by Dinosaur.
Working as a manufacturer, Dinosaur learned a lot about brand management and brand value, and eventually decided to develop its own name branded products.
It invited skilled designers to develop a logo and packaging with the result that its cartoon dinosaur logo is highly visible in the market.
The company's products have blended classical European design elements with modern concepts and are sold under the slogan "showing the color of life."
Dinosaur insists on high-end management and rarely discounts its products with the result that the brand is now as popular as Esprithome with local consumers.
It now operates over 200 branches and special shops around the country.
After Dinosaur was honored as a Famous Brand, the most direct benefit is its protection from being copied by competitors.
The city's administration of industry and commerce offers help to Famous Brands to fight fake products. On the other hand, it's also an excellent opportunity for the growth of an enterprise, to be designated as a Famous Brand, industry administration officials said.
