An autumn full of nonstop festival fun

THE Minhang Tourism Festival and Shopping Festival offers two months of fun, food and bargains for both residents and tourists alike.
More than 20 events will be held around the district, and shopping malls will be giving big discounts.
The Hub Shanghai in the Hongqiao area will be foodie paradise with the Singapore-initiated Savour Gourmet Festival. Top chefs from all over the world, including Mads Resflund, co-funder of the famous noma restaurant in Denmark, and Alvin leung, a Hong Kong holder of three Michelin stars, will be offering visitors gourmet cuisine as well as tips on cooking skills.
The Sky Mall in Xinzhuang area will hold a British-themed event showcasing famous brands from the UK. Exhibitions will include automobiles, household appliances, jewelry, beauty products and beverages.
Meanwhile in Minhang’s ancient towns, events will be held to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival on September 27. In the Hanxiang Water Garden in pujiang Town, a moon worshiping ceremony will be held, featuring a 4D light show around an ancient tree of a thousand years. A traditional Chinese folk music concert and an ancient Chinese garment show will also be held.
At the lotus International Plaza, a dinosaur exhibition called “Back to the Jurassic” is expected to be a big hit with children. Apart from models of nearly 10 different breeds of dinosaurs, “dinosaur eggs” will be hidden throughout the plaza for children to find.
