Auction for charity

A special charity auction was recently held in the Minhang government's conference center.
All of the 19 auction items were gifts received at official functions, and the auction raised 1.27 million yuan (US$185,523). The auction lots included the Beijing Olympic torch, a model of the Shenzhou VII spacecraft, carpets, watches and porcelain vases.
"I'm happy to be part of this and also happy to help people live a better life," said Hong Kong entrepreneur Chen Xiaozhen, who auctioned the Beijing Olympic souvenirs for 80,000 yuan.
The money raised will be donated to Minhang charities.
