THE Institute of Agricultural and Biological Sciences at Shanghai Jiao Tong University has successfully cultivated multiple high-quality flowers from foreign lands, including hyacinth and tulips.
China has traditionally had to import foreign flowers during non-growing seasons here. That makes prices high. Jiao Tong is experimenting with new breeding methods to circumvent seasonal hurdles.
