Center enhances care for the elderly

The new Maqiao Town Community Senior Center opened recently. It provides geriatric services that include day care, meals and bathing.
The center, located next to a nursing home for the elderly, is part of district efforts to improve the range and quality of care for senior citizens. Efforts are aimed at concentrating services in areas of most need.
By the end of this year, the district expects to complete work on all community senior centers.
It has added 1,561 beds to nursing home facilities and will complete reconstruction next month on care areas for the disabled and those with dementia.
