HUACAO Town recently held its first Citizens Culture Week, which offered a variety of sports and cultural events. The event was heavily attended.
Each day of the week had a special theme, such as Youth Day, Senior Citizens Day and Migrant Workers Day.
The week kicked off with a 2.4-kilometer run that drew 1,000 participants.
Performing artists during the week included the Shanghai Circus Troupe.
Prizes and souvenirs marked the event. The week also includes an array of cultural exhibitions, including displays of local artwork, lacquerware, ancient musical instruments, pottery, calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting and knitting.
