Course aims to aid youth in starting businesses

THE young are filled with dreams, but converting them into paying businesses is often a tricky matter that requires looking before you leap.

The Minhang campus of East China Normal University is sponsoring a series of 14 lectures aimed at helping entrepreneurial-minded students learn the ropes.

The free lectures cover the basics of starting up a business, including topics such as financing mechanisms, business plans, marketing, risk management and the business registration process.

The lectures started on March 9 and continue through the end of April. Thirteen business administration experts and seven entrepreneurs are involved in the lectures.

They include Ma Qianli, a specialist associated with the Asia-Pacific region of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research; Sun Jian, project manager of the Shanghai Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation for Graduates; and Zhu Yuezong, general manager of the Shanghai Mind Software Development Co.

Anyone who is not a student on the campus and wishes to attend is invited to phone 5151-8198 for more information.
