THE Minhang Center for Disease Prevention and Control on Zhongyi Road was opened recently.
The new 10,500-square-meter center equipped with advanced facilities, such as micro-organism auto-detectors, gas chromatography and atomic absorption spectrophotometry for experiments and tests, is an institution for disease prevention and control, public health monitoring, preventive medicine research, health education and promotion, and emergencies involving public health.
It is also responsible for the district's immunizations, disinfections and disease source prevention, nutritious food hygiene, environmental sanitation, health education and promotion as well as scientific research and training.
