BLOOD donation sites in Minhang have started alanine transaminase (ALT) testing with new, advanced equipment that produces results in three minutes. All persons seeking to donate blood will undergo the test for the enzyme. ALT measurements help determine if the liver is damaged or diseased. The procedure is aimed at avoiding the collection of blood that cannot be used.
