Focus shifts to 鈥榮ofter鈥 industries

WUJING Town in southwestern Minhang has long been the site of several major chemicals factories. But now the town wants to move from heavy industry into softer, cleaner sectors, like fashion and technology.
It has created the Jinlinggu Innovation and Technology Park and the Boji F1088 Technology Valley to further that policy.
Jinlinggu park will serve as an “innovation incubator” for Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the Liaoshen Group. Studies in advanced industrial materials will use the base to carry out research and attract funding.
Boji F1088 Technology Valley is aimed at fashion and Internet-related industries, with the aim of spurring creativity.
