GU Wenda Art Exhibition began in the OCT Modern Art Center of Pujiang Chenghexiangning Art Gallery recently. It's part of the "Ten-Year Plan of Pujiang Public Art" which started in 2007.
Gu Wenda is one of the most important artists of China in the present period. This time, he brings his "Zhong Yuan" (Central Garden), the public art design for the new Pujiang City.
The exhibition mainly focuses on traditional Chinese gardens and park constructions with a concept of "Green Garden Art."
"Nowadays, we've built up so many gardens and parks. From the classical Western style to the simulation of traditional Suzhou gardens, we're losing our innovation in art," says Gu.
"So I bring my 'Green Garden Art,' which is a very original idea. I always believe that the real classical garden art should be rooted in history and cultural heritage."
