TOURISM flourished during the Qingming Festival in early April. Zhaojialou, a popular old water town, reported a 50-percent jump in visitors to 900,000. Tourist spending rose 11 percent from a year earlier to 450,000 yuan (US$72,231.14). Other popular sites, including Qibao Ancient Town, Laowai Street on Hongmei Road and the Huangpu River Water Culture Museum, also reported gains in visitors for the holiday.
