Illegal advertising vanishes
ILLEGAL outdoor advertisements on the Yan'an Elevated Road and in the Xinsong Tunnel have been taken away in the district's battle against improper public advertising for the Shanghai World Expo.
On January 9, the headquarters of the Shanghai Expo City Appearance Management Bureau and related departments began a campaign to clean up outdoor advertising. One five-meter-high billboard in Xinsong Tunnel was removed with a crane.
During the first 100-day clean-up of the Yan'an Elevated Road, five major billboards were taken down from the road. More illegal advertisements on the 12 main sections of the Yan'an Elevated Road will be removed in the second 100 days of the campaign.
