Literary fest
Popular author and Minhang native Ye Xin was on hand at the 10th Shanghai Book Fair earlier this month to promote the release of its latest work “Youth Footprint,” a photo essay about life among zhiqing or “young intelligentsia.” He was among an array of literary and artistic figures attending the one-week fair. Film director Ding Jianhua participated in a workshop held to honor Huang Yan, a paralyzed girl who wrote the autobiography “Permit Me to Greet You With a Smile.” Chinese calligrapher Ding Shenyang autographed copies of his latest works, and author Shen Shixi, well known for his animal fairy tales, helped promote children’s books at the fair.
