Medical complex groundbreaking

The Medical Technology Center in Huacao town held its ground-breaking ceremony on July 23, 16 months after construction began on the master project of the Shanghai New Hongqiao International Medical Center.
The new center, located at the heart of the first-stage of construction at the medical complex, will cover 88,000 square meters. It is scheduled to be completed in 2015.
“The new area will combine the functions of shared support services, including consultations, logistics management, laboratory testing; and pathology analysis,” said Xu Su, project director.
Development of the project is under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and the Shanghai Municipal Government. The medical complex will include a Korean plastic surgery hospital and a French gynecological and obstetrics hospital.
