Museum to add more minority items

MINHANG Museum is currently speeding up its collection of Chinese traditional musical instruments relevant to national minorities.

In the near future, visitors will have a chance to see the musical instruments of China's 56 ethnic groups in the museum.

This information was released at the seminar "For Tomorrow -- Chinese Traditional Musical Instrument Exhibition Hall" held at Minhang Museum.

To enrich the collection, the Museum continues to copy and collect Chinese traditional musical instruments.

There will also be interactive activities in the future and visitors will be able to DIY their own musical instruments adding to the exhibition's fun.

At the seminar, Minhang Museum also received several pieces of elaborate musical instruments.

A musical instrument culture activist Tao Yi from Nanjing presented a guqin from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) to the museum, which he bought some time ago in Fujian Province.

A well-known expert on musical instruments, a researcher from Shanghai Dahetang Musical Instrument Cultural Studio, Shen Zhengguo, presented a Hongshan Jade Dragon-style erhu he created.
