Music gift
MINHANG Museum has received 11 handmade Tibetan folk instruments, and all of them will be displayed to public in the near future.
The instruments include a long drum, tuba and string instruments that formerly belonged to a cultural organization in Sichuan Province, which abuts Tibet. A staff member from the Minhang Museum saw the instruments in the Sichuan capital of Chengdu and contacted the cultural association. The association agreed to hand the instruments over to the Minhang Museum where they will be afforded better protection and care. Handmade instruments are precious because most folk instruments nowadays are manufactured in factories.
