THE first phase of construction on the National Beidou Compass Navigation Shanghai Center began in Pujiang recently. The 61,000-square-meter project is a 380-million-yuan project that will house satellite navigation research and development. The Beidou satellite navigation system was developed domestically in China. It provides precise data on locations, navigation and weather.
