NINE needy students in Minhang were recently given stationery, books, bags, bicycles and other items by teachers in the district. Children made thank-you cards to express their gratitude.
The campaign, launched at the Minhang District Education Bureau, is its fifth year now and has helped more than 300 needy students. Almost 320 teachers have participated in the program, after visiting the homes of lower-income families to ascertain what the students needed most.
