SIX new stations are planned for Metro Line 8, stretching south to the Luhui area in Minhang. The 6.2-kilometer extension will improve traffic in the southern part of Pujiang Town.
The metro line currently runs from Shiguang Road in Yangpu District to the Aerospace Museum under construction in Minhang. The six new stops will be constructed near Sanlu Road, Minrui Road, Yantie Highway and Minrui Road, linking the museum and Huizhen Road.
Line 8 passes through many popular downtown areas of the city, including the Hongkou Football Stadium, People's Square and the World Expo site.
